The Minnesota Wild announced Monday that goalie Devan Dubnyk has been named the NHL’s First Star of the Week after a pair of shutout wins last week.
Mike Reilly of the University of Minnesota men’s hockey team was named the Big Ten’s First Star of the Week on Tuesday after the Gophers took four out of a possible six league points at Michigan State last weekend.
University of Minnesota men’s hockey senior Travis Boyd was honored by the Big Ten Conference on Tuesday after the Gophers swept Bemidji State in their first home series of the season. Boyd was named the league’s First Star of the Week after collecting four points over the two games in the series.
As the University of Minnesota men’s hockey team keeps winning, the Big Ten Conference weekly awards keep coming. After the Gophers (23-4-5, 12-2-2) swept Penn State last weekend in their final regular season home series, two players were honored by the league.
