Minneapolis Man Convicted In Murder Of 13-Year-Old

A 27-year-old Minneapolis man was sentenced Wednesday to life without parole for his role in the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy in 2011. Kemen Lavatos Taylor was convicted on nine criminal counts, including the first-degree murder of Rayjon Gomez, 13, and the attempted murder of two of Gomez’s teenaged friends, according to Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman.

East St. Paul Speaking Out After Rash Of Violent Crimes

Recent cases of violent crime in East St. Paul sparked a heated debate on Thursday night. Neighbors packed Arlington Hills Lutheran Church to voice their concerns to city leaders and law enforcement. The community concerns stem from a mid-July shooting that claimed the life of 17-year-old Vincent Allison, and also after a group of people severely beat 26-year-old Ray Widstrand earlier this month.

St. Paul Teen Charged In Beating That Resulted In Brain Damage

A 19-year-old St. Paul man was charged Friday in connection with the brutal beating and robbery of a young man on the city’s east side, according to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office. Issac Maiden was charged with two counts of crime for the benefit of a gang – one on first-degree assault, and one on first-degree aggravated robbery with bodily harm.
