A Grand Rapids man is accused of stabbing his brother in the chest, stomach arms and hands with a knife, and then threatening to kill him and a witness if they contacted law enforcement.

Police: Grand Rapids Man Stabs Family Member Several Times

A 31-year-old Grand Rapids man is in custody after he allegedly stabbed a family member several times early Wednesday morning. Grand Rapids Police were called to a home in the northwest area of the city at about 1:47 a.m. on a report that a family argument turned into a knife attack.

A northern Minnesota man has entered a plea deal in his wife’s drug overdose death last year. Forty-nine-year-old Terry Wayne Richards of Grand Rapids pleaded guilty Monday to an amended charge of second-degree manslaughter.

Police: Grand Rapids Man Charged After Standoff

Authorities have charged a Grand Rapids man who they say led a seven-hour armed standoff with officers. Twenty-nine-year-old Robert Williams was charged Thursday with one count of reckless discharge of a firearm, four counts of false imprisonment and one count of terroristic threats following the standoff Wednesday night.

Deer River Woman Gets 5 Years For Robbery

A Deer River woman has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison for robbing a Grand Rapids business of about $350. Twenty-five-year-old Diana Jones pleaded guilty Monday in Istasca County court to one felony count of first degree aggravated robbery.

Minnesota Corrections Officer Admits Sex Assault

A former officer at a juvenile correctional facility in northern Minnesota has admitted to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl. The Itasca County Attorney’s Office said Tuesday that 24-year-old Devin Wood of Grand Rapids pleaded guilty on Monday to three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Heritage Council Decides On Executive Director

A state council that recommends how to spend $100 million a year on outdoors projects has voted to tap the executive director of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association as its top staffer. The Lessard-Sams Outdoors Heritage Council voted 9-2 Tuesday night for 55-year-old Mark Johnson, of Grand Rapids, who has led the deer hunters for 14 years.

One person is in custody after a man reported being assaulted in his home by an unknown male. Corey William Becker, 21, of Grand Rapids, is being held at Stearns County Jail in connection with the incident.
