After 9 Months, Uptown’s Boneyard Is Closing

Boneyard, a southern-style restaurant that opened in Uptown just last spring, is soon closing its doors for good. According to a post on its Facebook page, the restaurant’s final day will be Dec. 24. That’s when renovations will begin to transform the space, on 2841 Hennepin Ave. South, into a third Salsa A La Salsa location.

Guy On A Bike: Backpedaling

It seems each year brings new bicycle lanes to Minneapolis, and with it the popularity of the two-wheeled transport appears to be at an all-time high. But the largest city in the upper Midwest is actually experiencing a resurgence of the sport. In 1901, the Minneapolis Journal estimated “a wheeling population of not less than 35,000,” or 18 percent of inhabitants.

Four people were injured early Saturday morning in a shooting on a party bus in downtown Minneapolis. The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. on 3rd Street South and Hennepin Avenue, according to Minneapolis Police.

Woman, 24, Charged After Allegedly Running Over Woman With Car In Mpls.

A Minneapolis woman has been charged with first degree assault after allegedly hitting a woman with her vehicle in downtown Minneapolis early Saturday. Vanessa Ida Uzong, 24, has been charged with one count of assault in the first degree – great bodily harm.

Woman, 24, Accused Of Intentionally Running Over Woman With Car In Mpls.

A 24-year-old woman is in jail accused of deliberately hitting a woman with her car in downtown Minneapolis early Saturday. According to Minneapolis police, the incident happened at around 1 a.m. on the 500 block of Hennepin Avenue South.

Owner Of Shuttered Mpls. Restaurant Charged With Tax Fraud

The owner of a former Minneapolis restaurant was charged Wednesday with 68 counts of failing to pay sales tax and filing fraudulent and false tax returns. According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, 46-year-old Michael Ralph Whitelaw underreported sales by more than $1 million, and he underpaid tax by $100,000.
