Driver Hurt After Tanker Truck Rolls Near Hibbing

Authorities in northern Minnesota say a truck driver was hospitalized Friday morning after a tanker truck rolled over near Hibbing. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on Highway 5. When authorities arrived, a tanker truck carrying about 45,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate had rolled over.

Authorities have identified the 55-year-old Hibbing man who died Thursday morning after falling from his deer stand in St. Louis County as Bruce Richard Stone. According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, the call came in at 11:24 a.m. Thursday on the 1500 block of Highway 5 after the victim had fallen from his hunting structure. He had been working on the deer stand’s roof when the accident occurred.
