In two days, millions of Christians around the world will observe Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent. It falls 46 days before Easter, including Sundays. Christians will observe Lent by fasting or abstaining from a type of food they like. It’s a way of repenting their sins, and as a way to recognize how Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days and 40 nights.
With it being Holy Week, we thought tonight would be a good time to do a story about whether we should take the Bible literally. I know tonight’s story is going to get a lot of commentary from viewers, so I wanted to open the discussion here on the blog.
Easter is still two weeks away this year, falling on April 24. Last year Easter was April 4. Some years it’s March. The varying dates have even some avid churchgoers confused.
