Police Seek Leads In NE Minneapolis Homicide

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding those responsible for killing a Northeast Minneapolis man last weekend. The shooting happened just after 6 a.m. Sunday, and investigators believe it was a case of a robbery gone wrong.

Death Of Missing NDSU Student Ruled Homicide

Investigators have ruled the death of a missing North Dakota State University student a homicide. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office said that Thomas Gregory Bearson’s death is the result of “homicidal violence.”

Man Dies 6 Weeks After Shooting At 400 Soundbar

A 27-year-old Bloomington man died on Sunday, about six weeks after being shot in an incident at a downtown Minneapolis nightclub. Minneapolis Police say the shooting happened at about 1:40 a.m. on Aug. 8 at 400 Soundbar, located on the 400 block of 3rd Avenue North.

The hit A & E reality TV show “The First 48″ returns to Minneapolis this week to follow around some of the city’s homicide investigators. Minneapolis Police say they are excited to welcome back the show, which has featured the city’s investigators before in several episodes. It has been a few years since their last appearance.

Wisconsin Man Pleads In Dismemberment Slaying

A Wisconsin man has pleaded no contest to a homicide charge after being found competent to stand trial on charges of fatally shooting and dismembering a Minnesota man. Twenty-eight-year-old Kou Thao of Wausau pleaded no contest Wednesday to second-degree intentional homicide in the death of 58-year-old Tong Pao Hang, of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Police say one person is dead following a shooting near the intersection of 23rd and Fremond Avenue North in Minneapolis. Police said that one other person was also injured. The shooting happened at about 3:40 p.m.

Ty Hoffman’s Bail Set At $2 Million

After a month on the run, suspected killer Ty Hoffman appeared in court on second-degree murder charges Friday afternoon, and bail was set at $2 million. Hoffman was formally charged Thursday with second-degree intentional murder. On Friday afternoon, he appeared in court wearing a bulletproof vest and no handcuffs.

Shakopee Police say that they have arrested Lyle “Ty” Hoffman, who is suspected of shooting and killing a man at an Arden Hills gas station last month. Police received a report of a suspicious man in the Southbridge Crossing Shopping Center in Shakopee at about 10:17 a.m. Thursday.

The arrest of a man suspected of fatally shooting his former boyfriend and business partner in Minnesota has brought elation and relief to an Iowa family. Thursday’s arrest in the Minneapolis suburb of Shakopee marked the end of a month-long manhunt for Lyle “Ty” Hoffman.

Police say one person is dead after a stabbing in south Minneapolis late Wednesday night, and a suspect is still at large. Minneapolis Police were called to the 2400 block of Ogema Place at about 9:41 p.m. on a report of a stabbing.

Former Wis. Deputy Charged In Double Homicide

Prosecutors have charged a former Wisconsin sheriff’s deputy with killing his wife and sister-in-law last week. Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne filed two charges of first-degree intentional homicide against Andrew Steele on Friday. Steele would face mandatory life in prison if he’s convicted.

There will be a public memorial and candlelight service Thursday for the man who police say was killed by his ex at an Arden Hills gas station. Kelly Phillips was shot multiple times at a gas station in Arden Hills on Aug. 11 and died from injuries in the incident.

Fmr. Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested In Connection With Fitchburg Double Homicide

A former sheriff’s deputy in Wisconsin is accused of killing his wife and her sister, both of whom grew up in Stillwater. Ashlee Steele, 39, of Fitchburg, Wisconsin, and her sister, Kacee Tollefsbol, 38, of Lake Elmo, were found shot to death inside Steele’s home on Friday.
