The mainlines of westbound Interstate 394 will reopen Friday between downtown Minneapolis and Golden Valley — helping to ease traffic from Minneapolis’ Aquatennial events and the Minnesota Twins’ series against the New York Yankees. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the westbound mainline and HOV/Reversible lanes will open at 5 a.m. between on I-394 between I-94 and Highway 100.
A section of Highway 62 will be closed both ways as crews demolish the Penn Avenue Bridge. According to MnDOT, both directions of the crosstown will close between Highway 100 and I-35W at 10 p.m. Friday night. Eastbound Hwy 62 to France Avenue will remain open for hospital traffic only.
