Drivers in Minneapolis will have yet another road closure to deal with beginning Monday night. Westbound Highway 62 will be inaccessible from southbound Interstate 35W starting at 10 p.m. Monday.
Millions of drivers use metro freeways in Minneapolis and St. Paul every day to get to and from work, run errands or just shuttle around. In fact, MnDOT says the Interstate 35W/Interstate 94 interchange can see up to 180,000 people a day.
A section of Highway 62 will be closed both ways as crews demolish the Penn Avenue Bridge. According to MnDOT, both directions of the crosstown will close between Highway 100 and I-35W at 10 p.m. Friday night. Eastbound Hwy 62 to France Avenue will remain open for hospital traffic only.
