Amy Senser Granted Early Release From Prison

State officials say Amy Senser, who’s serving time for a fatal hit and run, will be released nearly six months early from prison. The Department of Corrections says Senser applied for a transfer to a jail or halfway house for work release, and it was approved. Senser is the wife of former Minnesota Vikings player Joe Senser. She was convicted of criminal vehicular homicide in the 2011 death of 38-year-old Anousone Phanthavong.

Why Do Wisconsin’s Road Conditions Seem Better Than Minnesota’s?

Several viewers have been asking why the roads hit by the snow storm in Wisconsin seemed to be in better condition than those in Minnesota. “As soon as we hit the bridge, it was wet,” Kristine Glenna said about her drive from Woodbury to Hudson. “We keep being told that it’s too cold for chemicals to work, and it’s going to be like this for several days, but obviously something’s working in Wisconsin.”

Video Released Of Rogers High-Speed, Wrong-Way Police Chase

Two men sit in the Sherburne County Jail charged with a brutal Elk River home invasion. But the biggest threat came as 40-year-old Aaron Martin and 31-year-old Ryan Woehler sent police on a high-speed chase, going the wrong way on Interstate 94 near Rogers last Thursday. Dozens of motorists and law enforcement officers were put at risk as the pursuit continued for nearly two miles. Authorities believed that the men had a kidnapping victim with them.

Snow Causes Multiple Crashes In Twin Cities

A fresh round of snow made for a tough Saturday afternoon on roads in the Twin Cities metro area. At Interstate 35 and 210th Street in Lakeville, there was a crash scene involving nearly a dozen vehicles. Several of them also slid into the median.

The Minnesota State Patrol has responded to a single-vehicle crash that killed one person east of downtown Minneapolis Tuesday morning. The crash happened on the southbound Highway 280 ramp to westbound Interstate 94. The vehicle involved rolled, and the driver was reportedly killed.

Patrol: Slow Down, Drivers…You Keep Crashing Into Squad Cars

The State Patrol is urging drivers to slow down after four people crashed into squad cars since the start of last weekend. On Monday, the State Patrol posted a video to YouTube with footage of a collision Friday on Interstate 94 near the St. Croix rest area. It shows a driver losing control and smashing into the back of a squad car that had stopped on the side of the road.

Driver Arrested After Striking MnDOT Worker

A driver was taken into custody after striking a worker with the Minnesota Department of Transportation on Interstate 94 Sunday evening. The crash happened near 42nd Avenue South in Minneapolis, the State Patrol said. The worker was clearing debris from the road when he or she was struck.

Police: Tip From Ex-Wife Led To Robbery Suspect

Authorities say a tip from an ex-wife pointed them to a Sartell man suspected in a string of armed robberies along Interstate 94 from the St. Cloud area to the Minneapolis suburbs. Police released a security video after a masked man robbed a Burger King in Maple Grove Wednesday. The ex-wife of 34-year-old Douglas Wayne Gravelle saw the video on the news and told police he wore the same clothes at a child support hearing. She said he’s addicted to prescription drugs and unemployed.

Police: Serial Fast-Food Armed Robbery Suspect Caught

Maple Grove Police have arrested a man suspected of a month-long armed-robbery spree that mostly targeted fast-food restaurants along the Interstate 94 corridor. According to authorities, Douglas Wayne Gravelle was taken into custody on Thursday. This arrest comes after a string of armed robberies which began in early September. Fast-food restaurants in Sauk Rapids, St. Cloud, Big Lake, Clearwater and Monticello were targeted. A Game Stop video game store in Monticello may also have been robbed by Gravelle earlier this month.

Family Claims Man Was Killed By Cops While In Handcuffs, Police Investigating

The family of a man killed by police claim that he was handcuffed and Tasered before being shot. Brooklyn Center police won’t comment on that accusation, but said the shooting was the result of a traffic stop on Shingle Creek Blvd shortly after 2 a.m. Friday.

Authorities said at least two people were seriously hurt in a crash that closed westbound Interstate 94 closed near Rogers for more than three hours Thursday morning. Authorities responded to the crash at about 10:09 a.m. Thursday on westbound I-94 near Brockton Lane, which is just east of Highway 101.

The Minnesota State Patrol said one person is in custody and a bus was evacuated on Interstate 94 near Woodbury after a passenger made comments about bombs. Authorities said a Greyhound bus headed for Chicago, Ill., was stopped on eastbound I-94 near Radio Drive Thursday afternoon after it was reported that a passenger made comments and references about bombs to other passengers and the bus driver.
