NHL Players play through broken bones, collapsed lungs and dislocated ribs. The King is sidelined due to cramps … which has happened more than once.
Last night, like every NBA night, morphed into a sweaty, LeBron James symposium. And the firewall between factions is rather defined. He’s either a chump who cheated his team out of a win, or he’s a victim of fate or faulty wiring, a hardwood martyr who can’t get a break.
Cleveland landed the first pick in the NBA Draft… again. Aside from winning the NBA Draft Lottery, what else is Cleveland #1 at?
Corey Brewer hit one of two free throws with 1.8 seconds left in the second overtime, and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Miami Heat 122-121 on Friday night.
The Las Vegas rockers offer up a potential song to a star NBA player and discuss how they narrowly averted disaster at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
The player, college, and NBA have suffered greatly in quality of play and players. And for every Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett there has been a conga line of lost causes, teens who toiled in Europe or Asia or worse once their hoop dreams melted into memory.

Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Corey Brewer has been fined $5,000 by the NBA for violating the league’s anti-flopping rules for the second time this season. The punishment was levied on Monday.
LeBron James and the Miami Heat rebounded nicely from a two-game skid. James had 21 points, eight assists and 14 boards for his first double-digit rebounding game of the season, leading the Heat to a 103-82 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. Dwyane Wade had 19 points and five rebounds in his return from a two-game absence and the Heat controlled the glass until garbage time after getting hammered on the boards by Detroit and Chicago in consecutive losses. James’ 14 boards tied his high in a Heat uniform. Kevin Martin scored 19 points for the Timberwolves. But they sorely missed Kevin Love, who was with his family following the death of his grandmother on Wednesday night.
What are the odds Kevin Love leads the NBA in rebounds in 2013-14? Or what are the chances Minnesota’s favorite Spaniard – Ricky Rubio – doles out the most assists per game? Actually, pretty good.
One year to the day the Minnesota Wild made the splash of the off season — signing Zach Parise and Ryan Suter – the latter was named to the first all NHL team.
