A 20-year-old woman was rescued from the waters of Minneapolis’ Lake Harriet Wednesday afternoon. Police say the emergency happened just before 5 p.m. at the lake’s North Beach. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office says the 20-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl were swimming about 50 feet from shore near a swimming raft when both went underwater.
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation board will open their wading pools for the season on Saturday, June 7. The city will open the following pools on Saturday.
