A small Wisconsin town came together Friday night to salute a fallen Marine.
A decorated Marine from Wisconsin was among those killed in Thursday’s shooting rampage in Tennessee. Sgt. Carson Holmquist grew up in Grantsburg, which is about an hour and a half northeast of the Twin Cities. He had served two tours of duty.

A Coon Rapids man who stuck up for a little boy almost became a victim himself. Jamie Godlewski says he saw a father spanking his child too hard and stepped in. “I just assumed he would have stopped and left. I didn’t think it would escalate to anything like that at all,” he said.
