Storm Send Lynx To First Loss, 65-62

The Seattle Storm finally found a way to finish a game — and in the process, finished off Minnesota’s season-opening win streak. Tanisha Wright scored 13 points, including a pair of free throws with 10.3 seconds left, and the Storm hung on to hand the Lynx their first loss of the season Friday night, 65-62.

Lynx G Whalen Wins Western Conference Honor

Minnesota Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen has been named Western Conference Player of the Week. The award is Whalen’s first of the season and sixth of her career. Last week Lynx teammate Maya Moore won the season’s first Player of the Week award.

Augustus Scores 25 Points, Lynx Improve To 7-0

Seimone Augustus had 25 points and the Minnesota Lynx remained unbeaten, holding off the San Antonio Stars 87-79 on Sunday. Maya Moore had 18 points, Tan White added 17 and Lindsay Whalen had 11 points and 10 rebounds to help Minnesota (7-0) sweep the home-and-home series with San Antonio (3-4).

Lynx Remain Unbeaten With 75-72 Win Over Sky

Maya Moore had been unstoppable on offense through Minnesota’s first four games. It was her stellar defense that kept the Lynx undefeated. Moore and the Lynx held second-leading scorer Elena Delle Donne to just 16 points to remain perfect with a 75-72 win over the Chicago Sky on Monday in a showdown of undefeated teams.

Moore Scores 30 As Lynx Beat Liberty 87-82

A collision with a teammate sent Maya Moore to the bench, and even that didn’t slow her down in the end. Moore recovered from cracking heads with Seimone Augustus to score 30 points on a record-setting night and the Minnesota Lynx defeated the New York Liberty 87-82 Saturday.

Maya Moore Lifts Lynx Past Shock

The defending WNBA champion Minnesota Lynx needed every one of Maya Moore’s career-high 38 points to beat the Tulsa Shock. Moore made two free throws with 11.8 seconds for the last of her points in Minnesota’s 94-93 victory over the Shock on Friday night.

Maya Moore scored 33 points, and Seimone Augustus tied it with 2.3 seconds left in regulation in the Minnesota Lynx’s 90-87 overtime victory over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. Lindsay Whalen scored Minnesota’s last eight points to help the defending champion Lynx improve to 2-0. They opened the season Friday night with a victory in Washington.
