Playing Hockey In The Summer Heat? Synthetic Ice Makes It Happen

While we’re experiencing daily heat indexes of well over 100 degrees, one booth at the State Fair has hockey on its mind and relaying that to all of its customers. Kids are getting into hockey skates, practicing their strides and gliding on a surface that looks as if it’s ice.

Heat Handle Spurs 109-93; Finals Coming Back To Miami

The Miami Heat entered Game 4 of the 2013 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs knowing they couldn’t lose and go down 3-1 in the series and have a chance of winning the Larry O’Brien trophy. But the Heat’s Big Three responded like the three All-Stars that they are, combining for 82 points and lead Miami to a 109-93.

Good Question: Why Does The Orchestra Get Paid So Much?

The Minnesota Orchestra and its musicians both have tough decision to make. The orchestra says it’s in a tough financial spot, after a nearly $3 million deficit in 2011, and laying off 20 percent of administrators. The musicians say they have to be paid at a top notch level in order to retain the top-notch talent.
