The month of June is known for more than the beginning of summer — nationally, it’s also African-American Music Appreciation Month.
While the majority of this year’s big Grammys are expected to go to people as far-flung as British crooners Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, Irish singer-songwriter Hozier, or Australian songstresses Sia and Iggy Azalea, there are a few categories with candidates much closer to home.
