Bicyclists Push For ‘Cycle Track’ On Busy Mpls. Avenue

A group of bicyclists want a protected bike lane on a busy road in Minneapolis. Minnehaha Avenue is set for reconstruction in 2015. Many in the local biking community would like to see a lane that physically separates them from both pedestrians and car traffic – a lane called a “cycle track.” For people who bike along Minnehaha, getting from point A to point B is a challenge. Nicole Nafziger knows firsthand how being so close to traffic can make for a scary experience when riding in the bike lane.

Man Allegedly Steals Car, Flips It, Hides From Cops In Bathtub

A Brooklyn Park man allegedly stole a car from a St. Paul repair shop that he frequents, crashed and flipped it, then fled the scene early Thursday evening. According to St. Paul Police Sgt. Paul Paulos, 20-year-old Mario Zacate allegedly stole a 1996 Honda Accord from Tires & More auto shop at 847 White Bear Ave N. in St. Paul. Twenty-six-year-old Brent Lynch, of St. Paul, entered his plea Friday in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend, Carolyn Leete. In the plea, Lynch agreed to a 32 year prison sentence.
