Minnesota Teacher Of The Year
A St. Paul high school teacher who teaches writing and English to immigrant students has been named Minnesota’s 2015 Teacher of the Year. Amy Hewett-Olatunde was announced Sunday as the 51st winner of the award.
Thomas Rademacher, the 32-year-old English teacher from the FAIR school, was named the 2014 Minnesota Teacher of the Year on Sunday.
Rademacher teaches English at the FAIR school in downtown Minneapolis. He is the first winner from the West Metro Education Program district, a voluntary partnership of 11 school districts.
The deadline is approaching to nominate a favorite teacher as the Minnesota Teacher of the Year. Education Minnesota says nominations will be accepted through the end of the day Friday.
An Edina English teacher is the 2012 Minnesota Teacher of the Year.
