Hundreds of people hit the baseball diamond for a great cause Sunday. The Big Wiff, as it’s known, is a wiffle ball tournament, benefiting the Miracle League of Minnesota.
A Twin Cities baseball league is teaching kids more than just the fundamentals of the game. The West Metro Miracle League gives kids of all abilities the chance to play. Built off Highway 101 in Minnetonka nearly eight years ago, the modified field is specially designed for children with special needs.
Mitchell Scott is 11 years old. “He loves baseball,” says his mom, Gerri. “He loves going to the games, he loves playing the games. He would play all day if you let him.”
The legacy of Twins Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew lived on Sunday at a special field in Lakeville, Minn.
