After winning just 16 games last season, the Minnesota Timberwolves learned their fate for the 2015 NBA Draft Tuesday night in New York. The Timberwolves had the best statistical chance at the No. 1 overall pick at 25 percent, and they were awarded the No. 1 overall pick.
After finishing the 2013-14 regular season with a 40-42 record and missing the NBA Playoffs again this season, the Minnesota Timberwolves are heading to the NBA Draft Lottery next week in New York City.

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Thursday that forward Kevin Love will represent the team at the NBA Draft lottery next week. The lottery will be held at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, May 21, in New York City. The Timberwolves are currently slotted to pick ninth overall in the first round.
After the Cavaliers beat out the Wolves for the top spot Tuesday, Kahn said with a smirk that the league “has a habit” of “producing some pretty incredible story lines.”

The Wolves, with their league-worst 17-65 record, had a 25 percent chance of winning the top spot in Tuesday’s draft lottery. But Minnesota will select second in next month’s NBA draft.
