2 Carleton Students Killed In Crash Laid To Rest Saturday

Two Carleton College students killed in a car crash last week were laid to rest Saturday. The fatal accident happened on an icy Highway 3 in Northfield last Friday. Three students died and two others were injured when their SUV slid into the path of an on-coming semi truck. The funeral for James Adams was held Saturday morning at House of Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Paul.

TCF Bank To Close 8 Cub Foods Branches

TCF Bank announced Wednesday that they will close eight branches locating inside Cub Foods stores by the end of March. According to a company spokesperson, the branches affected are located in Chanhassen, Elk River, Forest Lake, Hastings, Lakeville South, Mankato West, Northfield and Rogers. Chanhassen, Elk River and Forest Lake will still have free-standing TCF locations.

Crash Temporarily Closes I-35 South Of Twin Cities

The southbound lanes of Interstate 35, near Northfield, were highly congested Monday morning after a multi-vehicle crash. The Minnesota Department of Transportation said the crash happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. on southbound I-35 near Highway 19, which is the exit for Northfield.

Minn. Woman Convicted Of Animal Cruelty

A Dakota County dog kennel owner accused of drowning puppies has been convicted of felony animal cruelty. A jury on Friday convicted 62-year-old Dayna Bell of Northfield on 13 counts. She was acquitted on one count.

2 Families Rescued By Boat, 3 Roads Washed Out In S. Metro

Two Dundas families had to be rescued from their homes by boat after nearly seven inches of rain fell over night in Rice County. According to Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn, four families total have been displaced in the small town of Dundas, located an hour south of the metro. Three roads are also washed out in Rice Country near Dundas, he said.

Authorities Find Body Of College Student From Northfield

Authorities said late Monday they recovered the body of a missing college student from Northfield. David Rodgers hadn’t been seen since April, when the UW-Eau Claire student apparently fell off a pedestrian bridge in Eau Claire and went into a river.
