Gopher athletic director Norwood Teague said Thursday that head football coach Jerry Kill will be stepping away indefinitely from his on-the-field duties to focus on treating and better managing his epilepsy.

Teague Backs Coach Kill, Star Tribune Editor Apologizes For Column

Two days after his latest seizure on the sidelines, Gopher football coach Jerry Kill was back at work. And the U’s athletic director said he supports the coach “100 percent.” The coach was taken off the field at halftime of Saturday’s game at TCF Bank Stadium. It was the third time in three years that he’s had to miss part of a game because of his epilepsy. It’s uncharted territory for a major college sports program, having this happen so frequently and so publicly.

University Of Minnesota Sports Upgrades Part Of $190M Plan

The University of Minnesota has put a practice facility for the men’s and women’s basketball programs in a priority group of sports projects on campus estimated to cost $190 million. Athletic director Norwood Teague presented the plan Wednesday to the Board of Regents. He said the money would be raised solely by private funding.
