A St. Paul Apartment complex has started to fill in an unused pool where two young boys nearly drowned. The city of St. Paul ordered the owner of the complex to have the issue fixed by June 3. The order comes after two boys were found in the bottom of the pool on Memorial Day.

A St. Paul apartment complex is being forced to fix a dangerous, abandoned pool on its property after two young brothers nearly drowned in it on Memorial Day. According to police reports, 7-year-old Sher Kpor tried to grab a flip-flop from the pool’s murky rainwater when he slipped and fell in.

In Dayton’s Projects Bill, Tiny Hallock Scores Big Help

A city in the northernmost reaches of Minnesota with fewer than 1,000 people is getting outsized attention in Gov. Mark Dayton’s construction projects bill. In the measure Dayton outlined Tuesday, tiny Hallock is in line for state borrowing of about $1 million for three projects. The city would get help fixing a deteriorated sewer system, building a new fire hall and replacing the city pool.

University Of Minnesota Food Scientist Dies

A University of Minnesota food scientist has died, nine days after he was pulled from a private pool during a Memorial Day gathering in St. Louis Park. The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office said Friday that 48-year-old Koushik Seetharaman died Tuesday at Hennepin County Medical Center. The cause of death was a lack of oxygen to the brain. Doctors believe he suffered a cardiac arrest in the pool.

Middle School Student Hospitalized After ‘Pool Incident’

A seventh-grade student was taken to the hospital after what school officials are calling a “serious pool-related incident” on Thursday. The incident happened at St. Louis Park Junior High. Principal Les Bork sent a letter to parents and guardians informing them that the incident happened during a third-hour gym class.

Child, 2, Pulled From Pool In West-Central Minn.

Authorities in west-central Minnesota say a 2-year-old child was flown to a Twin Cities hospital after being pulled from a pool. The Kandiyohi County sheriff’s office was called to a near-drowning in a pool near New London around 4:15 p.m. Friday. The child was flown by helicopter to a metro hospital. The child’s condition is unknown.
