TV Host Fights Demolition Of 1893 House

The future of a 120-year-old house in South Minneapolis will be decided on Friday by the Minneapolis City Council. The home at 2320 Colfax Avenue south was built by master builder Theron Potter Healy in 1893. It’s now being used a 15-unit rooming house.

Nature Wows At The Wildlife Science Center

It is an unmistakable sound in nature. A chorus of voices we don’t often get to hear up close, let alone see in person. But at the Wildlife Science Center in Columbus, visitors can witness this unique melody while learning at the same time. “Our mission is science education for kids that makes it fun,” said Peggy Callahan, the center’s executive director.

Four Months Later, Portland Ave. Bridge Re-Opens On Friday

After four months of construction, the Portland Avenue Bridge, spanning I-94 and I-35W, is set to re-open at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23.Portland Avenue between East 16th Street and East 17th Street will re-open. The direction of traffic on Portland Avenue between East 18th Street and East 19th Street will revert to the pre-construction direction.
