A 20-year-old Red Lake man is in jail after leading law enforcement on a pursuit that injured a Beltrami County Deputy Sheriff late Friday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.
A man is in critical condition and a St. Paul police officer is being treated after an early morning chase that turned into an officer-involved shooting. Authorities said the incident happened just after 4 a.m. Sunday, when a St. Paul police officer responding to a report of a burglary near the 1700 block of Dayton Avenue, heard gun shots fired nearby.
Beltrami authorities are searching for a man they believe led police on a high-speed chase Wednesday afternoon near Bemidji, Minn. According to the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Edwin Lee Johnson, 41, of Bemidji, was reportedly seen driving extremely recklessly on Bemidji Avenue North at 1 p.m. Wednesday, just north of Bemidji. He was driving a stolen white 1999 Oldsmobile Alero with Minnesota license plates, authorities said.
A man who told police he was high on meth is locked up the Chisago County Jail after a two-state police chase that lasted for more than an hour Tuesday night.
Deputies in Kandiyohi County said a man took them on a 10 mile chase that reached speeds up to 100 miles per hour early Friday morning.
