Hospitals in the Twin Cities said they’ve been unusually busy treating children with severe respiratory problems that match the symptoms of an uncommon virus that’s sickened children in at least a dozen Midwest states.
As school buses take kids to school this fall, they’ll also be doing the environment a favor. As part of the Project Green Fleet program, more than 3,200 buses have been retrofitted to help reduce diesel emissions, according to Mike Harley of Environmental Initiative.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is issuing a health advisory to anyone who’s sensitive to elevated levels of ozone. The advisory is for the southern two-thirds of Minnesota and it will be in effect until midnight tonight.
