Twins Option LHP Diamond, CF Hicks To Triple-A

The Minnesota Twins have optioned left-hander Scott Diamond and center fielder Aaron Hicks to Triple-A Rochester. The Twins made the moves on Thursday after both players struggled in a 7-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals. Diamond (5-10) gave up seven runs — six earned — on nine hits in five innings.

2 St. Paul Residents Killed In Dakota Co. Crash

Two people were killed in a car crash in Dakota County Saturday afternoon. According to the State Patrol, 21-year-old Lui Thein was driving southbound on Hwy 52, just north of Cannon Falls. When turning eastbound onto 280th Street, Thein didn’t yield to northbound traffic and was broadsided 23-year-old Christina Chen of Rochester.

A 45-year-old Rochester man was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison Thursday for possessing meth with the intent to sell it, the Department of Justice said.

Police: Dodge County Burglary Suspect Arrested At Casino

Authorities said a man suspected in a string of burglaries in southern Minnesota was arrested last week after being spotted at Mystic Lake Casino. Cody Spencer Linquist, 30 of Rochester, was taken into custody on his birthday last week in connection with a burglary string in Dodge County.

A 3-year-old boy is in a medically-induced coma at a Rochester hospital after being rescued from the Chippewa River in Wisconsin. Logan Buchli was in a van that got pulled in by the strong current at a boat landing near the Lake Hallie Sportsman’s Club.

The young boy critically injured in a stabbing attack in Rochester last year has died at a hospital in Nebraska. Xavier Njemanze had been undergoing therapy at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Neb., for injuries he suffered when he was stabbed at his mother’s home.
