Dayton Back To Mayo For Surgery On Damaged Hip

Gov. Mark Dayton announced Tuesday that he’s headed to Mayo Clinic in Rochester next week to have hip surgery. Dayton said the surgery will take place Feb. 6 and will last about an hour, during which he will be under general anesthesia.

Responders Help Minnesota Couple Down AK Mountain

A Minnesota couple was escorted down a steep and icy mountain in Alaska after calling for help. Alaska State Troopers say 35-year-old Edwin H. Lee and 28-year-old Sarah E. Lee of Rochester, Minn., placed a 911 call Wednesday afternoon to say they needed help descending Mount Marathon.

Rochester Man Sues Boy Scouts Over Alleged Abuse

A Rochester man who alleges he was molested by a Boy Scout leader in the 1970s is suing the Scouts. It’s the third lawsuit involving the former scoutmaster, Richard Hokanson, since Minnesota temporarily lifted its statute of limitations for sexual abuse cases. He pleaded guilty in 1982 to molesting three Scouts in a troop sponsored by St. Pius X Church in Rochester.

The Twins made the moves on Thursday after both players struggled in a 7-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals. Diamond (5-10) gave up seven runs — six earned — on nine hits in five innings.

2 St. Paul Residents Killed In Dakota Co. Crash

Two people were killed in a car crash in Dakota County Saturday afternoon. According to the State Patrol, 21-year-old Lui Thein was driving southbound on Hwy 52, just north of Cannon Falls. When turning eastbound onto 280th Street, Thein didn’t yield to northbound traffic and was broadsided 23-year-old Christina Chen of Rochester.

Rochester Man Gets 17 Years For Possessing, Trying To Sell Meth

A 45-year-old Rochester man was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison Thursday for possessing meth with the intent to sell it, the Department of Justice said.
