The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Monday afternoon that head coach Flip Saunders will miss the team’s game against the Denver Nuggets due to an illness.
The Minnesota Timberwolves start their 2014-15 regular season Wednesday night in Memphis against the Grizzlies. The Timberwolves open the home season Thursday night against the Detroit Pistons. Minnesota hasn’t been to the playoffs in 10 years, so it’s prompted us with a new era starting this year to look back at some of the top Timberwolves players of all time. Here’s 10, in no particular order.
Minnesota Timberwolves prospects have started preparation for the NBA Summer League. The Wolves have scheduled four days of practice at Target Center before the team’s contingent travels to Las Vegas. The sessions include a free-and-open-to-the-public scrimmage on Wednesday night. The first game for the Wolves in the annual young-player showcase in Nevada is on Saturday afternoon.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have named Sam Mitchell as an assistant on coach Flip Saunders’ staff. Mitchell played for the Timberwolves in 10 seasons, including seven years during Saunders’ first stint as coach of the team.
