Protests Follow Fatal Police Shooting Of Unarmed 19-Year-Old

Peaceful protesters in Madison took to the college town’s streets with chants of “Black Lives Matter” following the fatal shooting of an unarmed, black 19-year-old by a white police officer, who authorities say fired after he was assaulted. The city’s police chief said he understood the anger, assuring demonstrators his department would defend their rights as he implored the community to act with restraint.

The family of a woman shot and killed by police on Highway 212 last year is suing Chaska Police. The lawsuit says that Dawn Pfister was a hostage and was needlessly shot and killed by Chaska Police. Pfister was in a car driven by her boyfriend, Mathew Serbus, last February. Their car rear ended another vehicle, and they fled the scene. Police began a high-speed chase.

Man Pleads Guilty In 19 Bar Shooting, Gas Station Stabbing

A 23-year-old Minneapolis man has pleaded guilty to both a shooting that injured two people at a bar, and also an unrelated stabbing incident. According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, Devin Michael Glen Strouss pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree assault on Monday.

Memorial Held For Teacher Shot Dead In Mahtomedi

A memorial mass was held Monday morning for a popular teacher and businessman who was shot to death in January. David Frigaard, 46, was killed in Mahtomedi after leaving the bar he owned. Investigators believe 19-year-old Bailey Garcia was the one who shot Frigaard.
