Man Charged In Death Of Peterson’s Son In Court

A man accused of killing the 2-year-old son of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has pleaded not guilty for an alleged attack on the boy’s mother. Twenty-eight-year-old Joseph Patterson was arraigned Thursday in Sioux Falls on charges of aggravated assault and kidnapping.

Health officials in Sioux Falls are urging residents to verify that their vaccinations are up-to-date, following a reported increase in the number of pertussis cases in South Dakota. The state Health Department late last week said 29 cases of pertussis or whooping cough had been reported statewide so far this year, compared to 67 in all of last year.

MN Man Arrested After Alleged Sioux Falls Carjacking

A man is in custody on several charges after an alleged carjacking in Sioux Falls. Police say the 36-year-old man fled on foot from the scene of a vehicle crash about 8:40 p.m. Sunday. They say he eventually assaulted a man in a parking lot, stole the man’s car and then assaulted a woman who was still inside the car.

Service Held To Mourn Adrian Peterson’s Slain Son

About 100 people turned out at a Sioux Falls church on Tuesday night to mourn the slain 2-year-old son of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. About a dozen family members attended the service for Tyrese Ruffin at First Evangelical Free Church, along with members of the public.
