Man Struck By Bus In St. Cloud

A man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a school bus in St. Cloud Thursday morning. The crash happened on the 600 block of Roosevelt Road just after 7 a.m., according to police.

Dangerous Wind Chill In Western/Central Minnesota

Dangerously cold temperatures have settled into western and central Minnesota. Subzero readings and brisk winds are expected to create wind chill readings that could drop to between 25 and 35 degrees below zero. The National Weather Service issued a wind chill advisory for central and western Wisconsin Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.

Teen Arrested For Throwing Hot Grease On Mother

Authorities said a 15-year-old boy was taken into custody Thursday night after throwing hot grease from a frying pan on his mother during a domestic dispute. St. Cloud Police were called to the 3500 block of 3rd Street North at about 3:56 p.m. Thursday on a report of a domestic disturbance in progress.

State Patrol: 3 Killed In 3 Separate Crashes On Wet, Icy Roads

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, three people were killed in three separate crashes on wet and icy roads on Monday. The first report of a fatal crash was at 2:00 p.m., when a rollover occurred on northbound Highway 7 in Big Stone County in western Minnesota. A Mercury Grand Marquis went off the road and into a southbound ditch, and then rolled down a steep hill, eventually coming to a rest with the passenger side on the ground. The driver, 85-year-old Donavan Tesch of Clinton, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Big Stone County Sheriff’s office says roads were wet at the time of the accident.

Patrol: Man, 35, Dies In Benton Co. Crash

A 35-year-old man died Thursday near St. Cloud after his SUV went through a stop sign and was broadsided by on-coming traffic, the State Patrol said.

An Illinois pork processor announced plans Friday to buy Minnesota meat packer GNP Company, which sells chicken under the Gold’n Plump, Just BARE and Sunny Roost brands. The family owned companies issued a joint statement that did not disclose terms of the deal.

Freezing Temperatures Moving Into Central Minn.

The National Weather Service says freezing temperatures are moving into central Minnesota, along with snow flurries in places like Rochester. The weather service says temperatures will be in the mid-20s Monday through the evening. Winds are expected to be blustery, with gusts up to 26 mph.

Teen Accused Of Fatal Punch Changes Plea To 2nd-Degree Murder

An 18-year-old Sauk Rapids man accused of a deadly assault has changed his originally plea of not guilty to 2nd-degree murder in a Stearns County court Friday morning. According to the Stearns County Attorney’s office, Jesse Smithers amended his plea to 2nd-degree unintentional murder. In Sept. 2012, Smithers was riding in a car driving down a St. Cloud alley when he asked the driver to stop. He got out of the vehicle and approached three men nearby, including Colton Gleason. Smithers punched Gleason with a closed fist. He later died at St. Cloud Hospital from his injuries. Smithers was 17 at the time of the crime, and was charged as an adult.

10 Hospitalized After Van Crashes Near St. Cloud

Authorities said icy conditions from the first snowfall were likely a factor in a Wednesday morning rollover crash that sent 10 people to the hospital. St. Cloud Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at about 4:06 a.m. Wednesday on the County Road 75 overpass near the Sauk River.
