1 Dead, 1 In Custody After Wright Co. Snowmobile Accident

Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in a fatal snowmobile accident on a Wright County lake early Sunday morning. The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened on the shoreline of Ramsey Lake at about 12:51 a.m. near the 5600 block of 33rd St. NW in Maple Lake Township.

Isanti Man, 50, Dies In Motorcycle Crash

An Isanti, Minn. man died Friday morning after being involved in a motorcycle accident early Thursday morning. According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, Warren Jay Ploof, 50, died early Friday morning from injuries he sustained in the crash.

Anoka Co. Teacher Investigated After Photos Of Students Found On Computer

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office says there is a criminal investigation underway into a contracted teacher for St. Francis and Spring Lake Park schools. According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation began after the St. Francis School District Interim Superintendent Troy Ferguson reported some concerning conduct that was alleged against the contracted teacher, identified as 66-year-old David Wayne Harrell of Chaska, Minn.

April Storm Dumps Foot Of Snow In Minn., Wis.

Just when it seemed like spring was here, an April snowstorm has dumped more than a foot of snow on parts of Minnesota. The National Weather Service reports nearly 15 inches of snow in Milaca, 14 inches in St. Francis and over 10 inches in Pine City.

7 Car Break-Ins Overnight In St. Francis

St. Francis police are investigating a rash of car break-ins — done all in one night. Seven cars were broken into on Yucca Street NW and the person responsible destroyed car dashes, getting away with stereos, speakers, GPS units and other expensive electronics.
