Police in St. Paul say a woman is in critical condition and two people are in custody after a shooting early Monday morning. Authorities said the incident happened at about 2:20 a.m. at the Woodbridge Terrace Apartments on the 1500 block of Marian Avenue.
St. Paul Police are asking for the public’s help to find a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning that has left a man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
On Friday, prosecutors concluded their case against Jeffrey Trevino, accused of killing his wife, Kira Steger, in February. Steger’s body was found in the Mississippi River three months later. Prosecutors took two hours questioning retired St. Paul Police Sgt. John Wright for the second time in the trial. He discussed his interviews with Trevino, and provided details about the couple’s deteriorating relationship in the months leading up to her disappearance. He told the jurors that Jeffrey and Kira planned to have a date night on the night she was last seen. Wright said the Trevinos were trying to save their relationship, which he said had been suffering for months.
On Wednesday, a grand jury in Ramsey County indicted two people in connection with the shooting death of a Minnesota National Guard sergeant last month, one of whom was the victim’s wife.
The man who was killed in a St. Paul shooting Sunday morning has been identified, the St. Paul police announced.
Authorities say a woman hit by a slow-moving St. Paul Police squad car last Friday has died. Police said the incident happened at about 5 p.m. on Aug. 16 as authorities were out on a call related to a juvenile on the 800 block of Cleveland Avenue in St. Paul.
A 9-year-old boy is in the hospital Friday morning after losing both of his feet in an accident involving a train. Police said it happened at about 6 p.m. Thursday near Farrington Street and Ivy Avenue in St. Paul. Neighbors who saw it happen called 911 immediately. Witnesses said the boy had been playing by the train tracks as a moving train went by.
St. Paul Police say they’ve arrested two people in connection with the shooting death of a Minnesota National Guard sergeant earlier this week. According to the St. Paul Police Department’s Twitter account, 24-year-old Heather Schwarz, of St. Paul, and 25-year-old Aaron Allen, of South St. Paul, have been arrested, and authorities aren’t seeking any other suspects. Charges are expected on Monday.
Authorities said they’re looking for a suspect after a teenager suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound in St. Paul Sunday night. Police were called to the 500 block of West Charles Avenue at about 10:47 p.m. on a report of shots fired.

A man was shot early Saturday night in St. Paul and two suspects are on the loose. According to St. Paul Police, a man was found shot at a house on the 600 block Duluth Street. Two suspects fled on foot after the shooting. The victim has been hospitalized.
A Brooklyn Park man allegedly stole a car from a St. Paul repair shop that he frequents, crashed and flipped it, then fled the scene early Thursday evening. According to St. Paul Police Sgt. Paul Paulos, 20-year-old Mario Zacate allegedly stole a 1996 Honda Accord from Tires & More auto shop at 847 White Bear Ave N. in St. Paul. After driving two miles, Zacate ran a stop sign while traveling south on Cypress Street
Police in St. Paul are trying to find the man who forced grocery shoppers to drive him to cash machines. The victims were forced into their vehicles at gunpoint at the Kowalski’s Market on Grand Avenue, with the most recent robbery on Saturday night. Kowalski’s shopper Carl Dehnert says these crimes or unsettling, considering that it’s located in one of those neighborhoods where everyone knows your name.
A Department of Corrections (DOC) fugitive was charged Friday with first-degree aggravated robbery, second-degree assault and fleeing police in a motor vehicle after a crime spree Thursday night in the Twin Cities. According to Minneapolis Police, 39-year-old Brandon Stark approached four people with a knife late Thursday night in Minneapolis. The crime spree ended with Stark crashing a stolen car in St. Paul during a police chase.
St. Paul Police say they will hold a press conference Thursday afternoon to reveal the identity of the body that was pulled from Mississippi River Wednesday. Authorities wouldn’t give any details about the identity — or if the body was a man or a woman — but said they will hold a press briefing at 3:15 p.m.
