St. Paul Squad Car Collides With Light Rail Train

St. Paul Police say a squad car was involved in a crash Monday afternoon with a Metro Transit Green Line train. The crash happened just before 3 p.m. near the intersection of University Avenue and Pascal Street. Police says the officer involved in the crash was not injured.

Police: Drug Suspect In Hospital After Fleeing, Jumping Wall On I-94

St. Paul police say a suspect in a narcotics investigation is in the hospital after attempting to evade police Wednesday afternoon. Police say they were investigating a narcotics call in downtown St. Paul when the suspect took off running and jumped a wall at Wabasha Street and Interstate 94.

Pet Blog: Rally Aims To End Dog Shootings By Police

The group “Freeze Don’t Shoot” plans to hold a rally at every state capitol Saturday to highlight officer-involved shootings of family pets. The Minnesota chapter was formed in July. Julie Whalen, the administrator of the Minnesota Facebook page, says the local group has about 130 members, and about 50 plan to attend Saturday afternoon’s rally in St. Paul to address what they call an “epidemic” of shootings.

Minnesota Still Investigating 3 Priest Abuse Cases

A Minnesota prosecutor says he won’t file criminal charges in seven cases of alleged sexual misconduct involving eight Catholic priests, but St. Paul police are investigating three other cases. Ramsey County Attorney John Choi says that one of the three still under investigation is likely to lead to prosecution, without giving details.

Police: 3 Stabbed At St. Paul Apartment, Man In Custody

Authorities said three people suffered non-life threatening injuries and a man is in custody after a domestic dispute led to a triple stabbing in St. Paul early Tuesday morning. St. Paul Police were called to a report of a fight between a man and a woman at about 12:15 a.m. at an apartment on the 400 block of Fry Street.

Car Pursued By Police Hits House In St. Paul

Authorities say a vehicle being pursued by police crashed into a house in St. Paul early Wednesday morning. Police said the car crashed into the front of a brick house on the 1300 block of Dale Street, but did not cause significant damage.

A sport clothing business was burglarized Monday morning when someone forced their way through the outside wall. According to the incident report, police responded to a call at 11:45 a.m. Monday of a burglary at the Sports Dome in the 1500 block of University Avenue in St. Paul, Minn.

Body Shop Loses Police Account After Alleged Speeding In Squad Cars

The owner of an auto shop said the incident that led him to fire an employee was blown out of proportion. The Roseville Police Department used Suburban Auto Body to fix their cars. That four-month relationship ended a week ago when employees were accused of speeding in the patrol cars.

St Paul Police Commander John Bandemer remembers the events of Aug. 26, 1994 like it was yesterday. He was off duty when two officers and a K-9 were shot. That morning, police were called to check on a “slumper” — a person found asleep in a vehicle. Officer Ron Ryan Jr. approached the vehicle, woke up the driver and obtained his identification.

A St. Paul police chase ended with shots fired and a suspect dead Sunday afternoon. Police said it all started when the male suspect crashed his car on Jackson Street near East Cook Avenue. The man then got out of the car and began shooting before taking a silver SUV by force.
