One man is behind bars after a standoff with police that forced a busy highway to close early Saturday evening. According to Burnsville Police, a man with a sawed-off shotgun entered the Holiday Gas Station on Highway 13 and Nicollet Avenue in Burnsville at 6:15 p.m. The man fired once in to the ceiling, and took two employees hostage. Police arrived soon after, and were able to talk the man down to the point of surrender. The gunman made no demands during the standoff.
Nearby homes have been evacuated after Minneapolis police responded to a report of an emotionally disturbed man who’s believed to have weapons in his house, according to officials.
