State Football Tournament
There are 56 high school football teams still playing in Minnesota, and all of them will be in action between Thursday and Saturday night as the state playoffs get underway at various sites.
If the quarterfinal round of the state football playoffs is any indication, any team get beat anyone on any given day. At the risk of sounding cliché, it’s true. Just ask anyone who played football for Edina or St. Croix Lutheran.
The fields are now set across seven classes for the state football playoffs in Minnesota. Last week’s section champions advanced to this week’s state football quarterfinals, which are being held across the state Thursday and Friday on turf fields at neutral sites.
He was a marquee quarterback for Wisconsin in his college days, and since then Brooks Bollinger played in the NFL, including a stint with the Minnesota Vikings. He’s now settled into a new football job.
There are 48 high school football teams still playing in Minnesota after section champions were decided last Friday and Saturday around the state. But the celebration is over and the preparation is back underway as those teams will do battle Friday and Saturday in the state quarterfinals.
