Family, Friends Mourn Loss Of South High Football Player

Students on a high school football team are rallying around each other after a sudden loss Thursday. Sha-kym Adams, 15, apparently drowned Wednesday while cooling off with his teammates at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis.

Authorities: Man Drowns In St. Croix River

Authorities said a man disappeared under water in the St. Croix River Sunday night. Washington County Sheriff’s dispatch said rescue crews arrived at Point Douglas Beach in Hastings, Minn. around 5 p.m. According to officials, Juan Gabriel Diaz, 40, swam out to the buoy line at the beach.

Health Officials Offer Safe Swimming Tips

Minnesota health officials say a few basic precautions can help keep families healthy at the pool and beach. Despite the recent rain and flooding, the Fourth of July holiday is expected to be busy at Minnesota’s beaches and pools. Health officials say best way to prevent water-borne illnesses is to keep germs out of the water in the first place, even chlorinated pools.

Sartell Man Drowns In Crow Wing Co. Lake

A 44-year-old Sartell man drowned while swimming in Clearwater Lake Thursday afternoon, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities responded to a call of a man missing in the lake around 1:37 p.m.

A man is in the hospital Monday night after he was pulled from a swimming pool unconscious. According to authorities, a male in his 40s was swimming in a pool at a private residence in the 2700 block of Ottawa Avenue when someone noticed he was not breathing.
