Once again the greats of professional golf are teeing it up in the annual 3M Championship at the TPC in Blaine. Celebrating its 22 year in the Twin Cities, the tournament will draw huge crowds to both its tournament play and team competition featuring golf legends Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player.
Ally Rogers says she got serious about golf at the age of 10, but it took a while to catch on. “When I was younger I just remember complaining a lot on the course with my dad. Just that it was too cold. And that I would always be hungry or something,” Rogers said. That actually wasn’t all that long ago. Ally is a 15-year-old freshman at Spring Lake Park.
The 3M Championship is not just about the men this year. Three of the top women’s golfers in history are scheduled to play in an event that’s part of the Champions Tour top at the TPC Twins Cities July 29-Aug. 4.
The 3M Senior Golf Championship got off to a soggy, rainy start Monday at the TPC course in Blaine, but it didn’t stop the participants from having a good time and doing some networking.
