Crew Scours Chippewa Nat’l Forest For US Capitol Christmas Tree

Staff from the U.S. Capitol and the Washington Office of the USDA Forest Service visited northern Minn. in late July to survey trees fit for Christmas in the nation’s capitol. According to officials, crews searched the Chippewa National Forest near Cass Lake, Minn. They settled upon two trees out of the millions in the protected area, one of which is a backup.

U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy is unharmed after a confrontation outside of the Capitol. Duffy’s office said that the Republican was walking toward the Capitol to vote on legislation when someone he didn’t know began screaming at him and grabbed his arm.

U.S. officials on Friday arrested a Moroccan man they say was planning a suicide mission at the U.S. Capitol, a law enforcement official told CBS News.
