Authorities Still Identifying Plane Crash Victims

Authorities are still working on identifying at least one of two victims of a small plane crash in Sauk Rapids. The St. Cloud Times reports one victim has been preliminarily identified, but officials aren’t going to release that information until the IDs of both victims are known.

Victims Identified From Western Wis. Fatal Crash

A third child has died from injuries suffered in a collision between a truck and an SUV near Prescott in western Wisconsin. The Pierce County medical examiner says 5-year-old Laynie Jo Amos, of Amery, died around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Victim Advocates Seek More Data On Accused Clergy

Advocates for victims of sexual abuse by clergy said Friday they will continue to push for more information about priests who have been accused of molesting children, and they hope the recent disclosure of a list of accused priests in the Twin Cities archdiocese will lead to similar ones being produced around the state.

Judge: Church Must Give Names Of All Accused Priests

The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis says it’s prepared to release names of 30 priests accused of sexually abusing minors if it gets a court order. The names include 29 priests on a 2004 list of priests deemed to have been credibly accused of abuse, plus one who had a substantiated claim leveled against him later.

Police Investigating 4 Recent Group Muggings In Downtown Mpls.

Police say a group of three to five black males have been targeting those walking alone – day or night – in downtown Minneapolis, and robbing them of their wallets, purses and or cell phones. Minneapolis police said four muggings have taken place between Aug. 12 and Aug. 19. The suspects are in their late teens, or early 20s. They target lone individuals and some victims have been pushed or punched.

St. Paul Man Charged For Crash That Severely Injured 2 Girls

A 47-year-old St. Paul man was charged Friday in Washington County in connection with a Lake Elmo crash that severely injured two young women. Washington County Attorney Pete Orput said Jon Ross Wentz faces eight felonies of criminal vehicular operation causing great bodily harm involving negligence, blood alcohol and controlled substances in his system.

Police: 3 Shot In N. Mpls., Including A 14-Month-Old

Minneapolis police are searching for a suspect after three people including a toddler were shot and seriously injured on the city’s north side. Police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington said all three victims are expected to survive, but police can’t say for sure if the people who live in the area are in danger or not.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department says they are investigating after a shooting incident left two dead and two injured Tuesday morning in north Shoreview, Minn. Reports say the incident happened near County Road J in a private home in that neighborhood.
