The man charged with shooting and killing a Mendota Heights police officer is being called a career criminal. Brian Fitch Sr. is accused of shooting and killing Officer Scott Patrick during a routine traffic stop in West St. Paul Wednesday afternoon. Fitch had three outstanding warrants during the alleged shooting.
A 26-year-old man was arrested Monday, after leading police on a chase from St. Paul to Cottage Grove, Minn. Officials say the man had multiple felony warrants out for his arrest.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, along with more than a dozen other agencies, are doing a countywide warrant sweep. Their message: Give up now and you might be home for the holidays.
