The Minnesota Twins have placed right-hander Samuel Deduno and outfielder Wilkin Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list. Deduno left his previous start against the Royals early with soreness in his right shoulder. Ramirez fractured his left shin after fouling a ball off his leg in the fifth inning of Thursday’s game against the Royals. The Twins have recalled left-hander Pedro Hernandez from Double-A New Britain and outfielder Darin Mastroianni from Triple-A Rochester to fill the open roster spots.
Minnesota Twins right-hander Samuel Deduno has soreness in his throwing shoulder. Deduno was pulled from his start against Kansas City on Thursday after three innings because of discomfort. He gave up four hits, three runs and a walk while striking out four. Deduno was bothered by biceps tendinitis around the shoulder earlier this month.
The Minnesota Twins have reinstated outfielder Wilkin Ramirez from the disabled list after missing 69 games with concussion problems. Ramirez was first put on the disabled list on May 26. He struggled with lingering symptoms for quite a while before beginning a rehab assignment three weeks ago. Ramirez says he sought the counsel of Twins first baseman Justin Morneau, who has a long history with concussions.
