Pedestrian Bridge Struck By Truck To Be Removed

A pedestrian bridge that was struck by a semi truck earlier this week will be removed. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the bridge that spans 55-feet over Highway 14 will be dismantled by crews using a heavy-duty crane Tuesday afternoon.

MnDOT: A Semi Hit A Pedestrian Bridge, Now It’s Being Torn Down

MnDOT says it plans to tear down a pedestrian bridge near St. Mary’s University in Winona after it was struck by a semi-truck Monday afternoon. The bridge, which spans Highway 14 and is part of the university campus, will be removed as soon as equipment can get to the scene, officials say.

Winona Cop Gets Probation For DWI

A man who pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated while serving as a Winona police officer will get one year of supervised probation and must pay a $1,000 fine. Earlier this month, Walski pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor DWI and he was granted a stay of imposition.

The Diocese of Winona released details Monday about 14 priests who have been credibly accused of sexually abusing children, calling their decision an effort to be transparent and promote healing. The information shows when church officials first learned of allegations against each priest. After another round of rain this weekend, officials are reminding Minnesotans of the dangers on lakes and rivers when waters are high. When Robert Duncanson fell out of his canoe, he held onto a tree branch along the river. But the current was too much, and the branch snapped before help arrived.

Body Of Missing Fisherman Found In Winona

Search crews have found the body of a missing 88-year-old Stockton man who fell out of a canoe while fishing Friday morning. Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand says crews were dragging the river near Winona, when one of the drags caught the body of Robert Lester Duncanson on Saturday afternoon.
