One of the best places to take in Minneapolis' Red, White and Boom display for the Fourth of July is Gold Medal Park. Gold Medal Park has ample green space to set up a blanket and watch the display with friends and loved ones. You can also get great views from the Endless Bridge at the Guthrie, or anywhere along the Stone Arch Bridge. But really, there's not a bad seat around. Enjoy the celebration all day long, starting in the morning with the Red, White & Boom! half marathon, 5K and relay, before taking in music, movies and plenty of other activities for people of all ages leading up to the grand finale fireworks.

As is the case with a few of the entries on this list, there will be a festival, complete with food, drink, live music and activities, leading up to the fireworks. Duluth's annual Fourth Fest is known in the area as the place to be for not only incredible pyrotechnics, but also a full day of family fun. Music will accompany the show, perhaps one of the reasons it is regarded as one of the best fireworks shows in the state, all while majestic Lake Superior glows in the light.

There might be no more relaxing way to enjoy Fourth of July fireworks than from the deck of a cruise ship on the St. Croix River. You can see the Hudson fireworks on Sunday with the first cruise, which runs from 8 to 11 p.m., or look on the other side of the river for the Stillwater fireworks on Monday from the second cruise which runs from 8:00 to 11:45 p.m. You can choose the dinner and cruise option if you'd like to sit down to a meal on the water before the fireworks, or just enjoy the cruise (with hot dogs for sale) and the show.

You'll be able to see these fireworks from miles away. From both Hester Park and Wilson Park, however, you'll get a more intimate view of the area's largest, most impressive fireworks display. There will be concessions available for purchase at both parks, as well as activities for children and live music. Once the sun has disappeared below the horizon, find a spot on the grass (or check the website above for other options along the Mississippi River for viewing) and enjoy the show.
