Best Labor Day Weekend Events For Kids In Minnesota

Labor Day weekend always represents a special time of year in the state of Minnesota. It represents the end of summer and the beginning of fall. Look to these events on Labor Day weekend to have some fun with the family during those last warm days.

The Shafer Corn Maze is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning on August 31 until November 3, 2013. This event defines fun for kids by its very large corn maze, the planned events for the children, haunted mazes, the kid's petting zoos and much, much more. So come on out and make your way through a dragon's lair cornfield. While you and your family are here, feel free to check out the scarecrows hidden in the fields. Take a cool tractor ride in the beautiful fall weather or just pick up a pumpkin for the upcoming Halloween season.

This amusement park is open through September and always draws a crowd on Labor Day weekend. The kids will absolutely love Sparky the sea lion and the other marked attractions. You and your family should come on out and groove and dance in the beautiful gardens, check out the ferocious gorillas in the Gorilla Forests and then soar through the clouds on the Soaring Eagle ride.

This Labor Day, visit the Minnesota State Fair. This particular fair is known as the "Twelve Days of Fun Ending Labor Day" and the kids get tickets for $7 if they are between the ages of five and 12. The fair has an awesome animal barn for petting the animals, thrill-filled rides and other fun games. It also has juicy caramel apples and delicious cotton candy so the kiddies can munch to their hearts' content. Being the last weekend of the fair, you can be certain that ample entertainment will be available. This is a very big deal in the state of Minnesota. Fill up on all of the fair food staples but know that you might be going home with a car full of tummy aches.

This little orchard offers free admission. Come on out and enjoy these fun activities with your family on your day off of work before you have to get back to the grind.
