Best November Concerts In Minnesota

Sure, the outdoor concerts we enjoyed on warm summer nights might be over. Sure, winter might be just around the corner, driving us inside for our entertainment. Is that a bad thing? Not when you have a rich music scene, and fantastic music venues, that we do in Minnesota. There's plenty of music coming this November, so don't lament the coming cold weather, turn up the heat instead at these local concerts.

This double bill puts some of the Midwest's best music on display on Nov. 28. Halloween, Alaska is a super group made up of local legends, playing the type of ambient rock music that has come to help redefine the "Minneapolis sound" and keep fans grooving for over a decade. Equally innovative Aero Flynn's own haunting brand of rock, with a smooth, almost ethereal quality, is sure to be the perfect complement. Dem Yuut opens.

The Varsity Theater will play host to one of the enduring acts of the early-2000s indie rock movement when Copeland comes to town on Nov. 17. After a four year hiatus that started in 2010, Copeland has been back on the scene for a little over a year, complete with a new album "Ixora," that you're sure to hear plenty from at the show. But don't worry, longtime fans, you're sure to hear plenty of the classics as well. Eisley and We Are City open.

For all the Dead Heads out there, this latest tour is the one to catch. Featuring original Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir, the group also added John Mayer to the mix to create a sound both reminiscent of the Jerry Garcia days, but with something extra that fans new and old can appreciate. Taking place on Nov. 21, this show is sure to rock the massive Target Center and bring continue the Dead's ascent back to life.

This rock 'n roller from Great Britain has been making quite a name for himself recently, with comparisons to Bruce Springsteen and James Blake. With a classic sound often lost in today's music, Bay's sets are powerful both in both lyrics and melody, but it's the wailing guitar that is sure to set you off. Rock 'n roll doesn't get the love it once did, but James Bay's set is sure to inspire the true fans of the genre. Clear your schedule for this Nov. 21 show.
