Some people like to spend their nights with a nice glass of chardonnay and a television show. And some nights, that’s okay. But after a stressful day, or week, there’s often no better remedy than dressing to the nines and hitting the hottest club on the stretch. Or maybe it’s a birthday, bachelorette party or reunion of old friends that is getting you to the dance floor. Or maybe it’s just Saturday night and that’s reason enough. On the nights that you want, or need, to leave everything else behind and dance, here are the clubs that have you covered.
116 N. 1st Ave., N.
Minneapolis, MN 55401
One of the newer additions to the North Loop in Minneapolis, a neighborhood battling between foodie cred and nightclub cred, Tangiers decided to do both and offers dance nights almost every night while keeping you fueled with tasty eats. Wednesday is International Night, featuring pop from countries all across the globe to dance to, and Ladies Night is on Thursday, proving you don’t have to wait for the week to be over to enjoy a night out on the town.
15 4th St., N.E.
Minneapolis, MN 55413
For dancing on the weekend, there is no place better than The Front. Yes, it’s only open on Friday and Saturday nights, but we’re all working for the weekend anyway. Make it through the week and reward yourself with a wild night out at this Northeast Minneapolis dance haven. Be ready for a packed house, shaking to dance classics from the 90s through today that will make the coming Monday seem like a million miles away.
Kitty Kat Klub
315 14th Ave., S.E.
Minneapolis, MN 55414
Dinkytown is one of those neighborhoods that becomes less appealing for nightlife the further you get from the college age. There are plenty of places to drink, each one spilling over with college kids from all walks of life. But for a good dance night, the Kitty Kat Klub is much more than just another place close to campus in which to imbibe. Dance nights almost every night play some of the best booty-shaking hits and you’ll never wait for good company on the dance floor.

408 Hennepin Ave.
Minneapolis, MN 55401
Less of a gay bar now and more of a nightlife sanctuary for anyone looking to get wild, Gay 90’s has turned into bona fide downtown nightclub that promises much drinking and dancing almost every night of the week. There are multiple dance floors on which to get busy. All of the newest and hottest music to get you moving make this Hennepin Avenue mainstay a temple for getting rowdy. We understand, you just want to dance. Do it here.
Record Room at First Avenue
701 1st. Av. N.
Minneapolis, MN 55403
While the mainroom at the godfather of Minneapolis nightclubs has strayed from dance nights, the Record Room upstairs has been dedicated to them. The Record Room is where you want to go now to throw your hands in the air, after setting down your drink of course, and dance the night away for various parties throughout the week. While some local or national acts rock the main stage downstairs, you’ll be lost in your own world of groove, oblivious to anything else going on in the building. And that’s how a good dance night should be.
