Enjoy the classic and traditional music of George and Ira Gershwin on New Year's Eve. Grammy award-winning soprano Sylvia McNair will be accompanied by the Minnesota Orchestra for two fantastic performances of American classics. The program will cover all of the Gershwin favorites including "The Man I Love" and "Summertime." Following the late program, guests will be invited to a champagne reception in the lobby of the hall to ring in 2015.

Kicking off the holiday season and welcoming the tradition of Bentleyville to Duluth, the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra will entertain the community with holiday music and a presentation of Handel's "Messiah." The symphony orchestra has been in Duluth since the 1930s and continues to entertain North Shore residents throughout the year.

The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra brings a series of chamber music concerts to Minnesota and promotes classical appreciation among the community. With a smaller ensemble than a grand orchestra, the audience can relate to each of the performers and connect the music to individual players. The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra tackles some of the most familiar and complex classical pieces within their performance and invites the audience to listen and share the emotional aspects of the music. The Baroque and Classical Masterpiece series will include music by Bach and Mozart, along with other famous and beloved sonatas.

One of the most popular and known composers of classical music is Ludwig von Beethoven. Beethoven wrote operas, symphonies, sonatas and many other fantastic pieces that have stood the test of time. In February, the Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Chorale will be performing three very different but very fantastic pieces from Beethoven's collection. The program consists of an operatic piece, a symphony and three soloists performing Beethoven's only oratorio.
