THE DEFENSE
Q: Is this the first car you're ever bought?
A: It was the first car I ever really bought myself! I got it a year ago at a dealership. All my other cars were junky hand-me-downs. I took out a loan and have three years left on it.
Q: Congrats! Do you have a nickname for it?
A: My boyfriend calls it "The Egg Car" because it's small and round. It's like driving around in a little egg!
Q: Have you gone on any road trips in Eggie?
A: Only one, to Duluth to see The Suburbs play. I also used to drive back and forth from the cities to Menomonie, Wisconsin because I lived there for a while.
Q: When I pass Menomonie, I always sing the Muppet's "Manah Manah" song. Do you do that, too?
A: Yes, all the time.
Q: What is your favorite road trip snack?
A: Twizzlers.
Q: How does this car do in the harshest of Minnesota winters?
A: My car is really good in the winter. On that road trip to Duluth, everyone got stuck in that snowstorm except for my Kia. It's just a little egg car, so I can't believe it made it!
Q: What the feature that you like to brag most about on this car?
A: It has a CD player. I dreamed of a CD player, and now I have one. That's so sad.
Q: Keep the bar low, that way all your dreams can come true! So you have your own pet-sitting business. Do many pets ride in your car?
A: Yeah, lots of dogs. Just today I had a boxer named Rocky in my car. She wears a seatbelt that her parents provided. It's so cute. She just sits back and looks out the window. She's really strapped in there. My dog Conan rides in this car all the time.
Q: Does Conan like to ride with his head out the window?
A: He puts one paw out and his head. He looks so happy.
Q: Do you typically spend a lot of time in your car?
A: At least one hour every day.
Q: What's your favorite driving music?
A: When I first got this car, I listened to the Florence + the Machine CD over and over again, but it's been pretty quiet in here lately.
Q: How many miles do these Kia's typically get?
A: They get about 200,000 miles. I am hoping for that. It used to be a rental car, so I started out with a lot of miles.
Q: What's in your glove compartment?
A: I have those ArmorAll wipes, business cards, and lots of papers.
Q: Do you keep a messy or neat car?
A: Neat. Well, I try.
Q: What kind of personality does your car have?
A: It really likes to persevere through hard times.
Q: Finally, if you could have any car in the world, what would it be?
A: A brand-new BMW. They are so smooth, fast, powerful, and beautiful.
