Worker Killed In Wisconsin Industrial Accident

SUPERIOR, Wis. (AP) -- Police say a man has died in an industrial accident at an iron ore facility in northwestern Wisconsin.

The accident happened about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at the BNSF taconite facility in Superior. Police Capt. Chad La Lor says the facility is in the city's Allouez neighborhood.

La Lor says man was working at the facility when he was fatally injured. The Duluth News Tribune identifies the victim as 43-year-old Kelly Yadon of Superior. He had worked for BNSF Railway for five years.

Superior Fire Department Battalion Chief Steve Edwards says crews arrived to find Yadon pinned between two steel beams under a conveyor belt and cut him out from under the beam. Attempts to revive him failed.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and BNSF are investigating.
