St. Paul Plans To Make Up Snow Days, Mpls Not Sure

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The superintendent of St. Paul's public schools says she intends to make up this week's two snow days, but Minneapolis officials aren't sure what they'll do.

St. Paul Superintendent Valeria Silva tells Minnesota Public Radio News that she'll schedule makeup days for students in her district, but dates haven't been set.

In Minneapolis, Dan Loewenson says there are budgetary and academic issues to consider. He says the two days could impact kids preparing for state tests, so if there are makeup days, they should happen soon.

Loewenson also says some funding could be affected if those days aren't made up.

A final decision is expected after the winter break.
